Clare is an experienced mental health professional, with her State of Florida Licensure for Licensed Mental Health Counselor credentialing nearing completion following her relocation from to Florida from Wisconsin. She completed her Master of Science in Counseling with a clinical focus and additional Trauma Certificate at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Alverno College, also located in Milwaukee, WI. Clare is currently a member of the American Counseling Association and the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Clare has been working in the mental health field since 2014, in a variety of treatment settings. She has experience serving children, teens, adults, couples, and families in outpatient private practice, residential, and inpatient psychiatric hospital settings. Her wide range of experience has afforded her the opportunity to serve diverse populations faced with a variety of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, grief and loss, family conflicts, trauma, self-esteem, sexual identity concerns, and stress management. She has a specialized background in trauma work, which allowed her the opportunity to serve youth exposed to sex trafficking and their families with additional difficulties related to delinquency and juvenile justice system.

Clare utilizes combination of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related approaches, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered strategies. She works to develop a sense of empowerment in her clients, allowing them to identify and confront life’s challenges head on, cope with mental health concerns, and find meaning and the hope to move forward. She regards the engagement of family systems as key in creating lasting change for individuals and encourages family involvement in counseling where appropriate. Sessions with Clare may take place at the Windermere office location, or via phone/telehealth video (subject to consultation).
